History:  The first church was erected as a chapel in 1831 on George Allison's land at Lot 15 Concession 2.  In 1877 Jacob Allison sold another separate part of an acre to the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church for a burying ground.  The original chapel was replaced in 1877 by a red brick church.  Services were held both Sunday morning and evening — the regular form of Methodist worship in the morning, and a revival meeting in the evening.  Almost everyone went to the evening service; they enjoyed the entertainment of the livelier service and it was a good meeting place for the younger people.  Lay preachers went up and down the aisles asking those who wanted to be saved to come to the front where they knelt on benches.

The church had a row of crude rough seats up each aisle and in the centre.  For heating there was a huge box stove in the middle at the back.  There was an organ and a raised platform at the front with a pulpit in the centre.    [in part from "Nassagaweya – a history of Campbellville and surrounding area" by the Campbellville Historical Society]

This red brick church was later used as a Baptist church and then, in 1975, was converted into a private house.

The cemetery is located east of the church farther along 15th Sideroad.
