History:  Thomas Brownridge came to Canada from Yorkshire in 1819.  He married Eliza Ward of Islington and they settled on Lot 4, Concession 7, in Esquesing Township.  Their son Joseph married Agnes Fisher and took over the farm.  Eliza (Ward) Brownridge died in 1842, aged 37 years.  Thomas died in 1850, aged 60 years.  His older brother William died in 1863, aged 87 years.  These three are buried in the family cemetery.  There are also several children buried there with no marker incriptions.  The farm is currently owned by Murray Brownridge.    [by Betty Brownridge]
