History: General Peter Adamson was born 23 September 1779 in Dundee, Scotland, and was honoured with the "Knight of Tower and Sword" for his service in the Peninsular War against Napoleon Bonaparte. He was settled in Norval by 1838 and gave the land for St. Paul's Anglican Church and cemetery. The Anglican church was built in 1845. St Pauls was associated with several other churches in the area over the years including St Albans in Glen Williams.
