History: The original Holy Cross Church was built in 1885. It was later rededicated in 1966 to serve the French Catholics in Georgetown when the new Holy Cross church was built. This building was renamed L'Eglise Sacre-Coeur. Prior to 1885 Catholics attended St Patrick's but the congregation moved to the new building after it was deemed in serious disrepair.
