History: The Baptists formed their congregation in 1847. They built their first church in Georgetown in 1869 on the hill on Main Street. The stone was quarried in Glen Williams. The church dominated the skyline at the time. The spire is 126 feet high on an English style building. The church was closed in 1970. In 1974 the building reopened as the first home of Christian and Missionary Alliance.
